We receive many questions about our programs. The following are answers to some general questions.

- What is the difference between us and other schools in the area?
When considering a Martial Art School in Maryland you need to know the following. The State of Maryland A G's  Office requires Martial Art Schools to bonded and licensed to protect the consumer if the facility should go out of business. We are licensed and bonded our state registration number is B2886. The State of Maryland Board of Education requires Martial Art Schools to be licensed with them if they provide an after school or summer camp program of any kind. Maryland requires the facility to have one bathroom and one hand sink for each 15 children, one drinking fountain for each 30 children, 35 square foot of inside play space per child, 70 square foot of outside playground space per child and a separate adult only bathroom. We are licensed for 90 children; our childcare license number is 03-123484 being licensed with the Board of Education allows us to accept childcare vouchers. Students need to be careful there are many Martial Art Schools in the area operating without the required bond, license and insurance.

- What can children gain by learning Tae Kwon Do?

Learning Tae Kwon Do is a very good way for children to develop into positive young adults. They learn many positive attributes including the ability to prioritize objectives and become organized; self-control and self-defense; rational decision making; loyalty and respect for oneself and others; self-confidence and high self-esteem; perseverance and diligence; poise, positive attitude; etiquette, responsibility; mental and physical discipline.

- Will I get hurt?
Under the staff's direct supervision the student is taught how to control the amounts of bodily contact while sparring. This allows room for errors and for conditioning of good techniques. At no time is a student allowed to use full force. This policy provides for safe training and maximum learning for each student.

- What is the difference between Kung Fu, Japanese Karate and Tae Kwon Do?
Kung Fu is the Chinese form of Karate. The techniques emphasize punching and heavy contact - thus the nickname "Chinese Boxing." Japanese Karate originated in Japan. The techniques of this form of Karate emphasize the use of approximately 50% punching and 50% kicking techniques. Tae Kwon Do, Korean Karate, is perhaps one the oldest forms of Martial Arts, and it emphasizes the use of the legs as primary weapons. Since the legs are stronger than the arms and almost twice as long, Tae Kwon Do is a very effective method of self-defense for men, women, and children.
