Tae Kwon Do
Korean Karate, is perhaps one the oldest forms of Martial Arts it emphasizes the use of the legs as primary weapons. Since the legs are stronger than the arms and almost twice as long, Tae Kwon Do is a very effective method of self-defense for men, women, and children. See class schedule for more information.
Traditions
1. All students must bow to their Black Belt instructors, recognizing and honoring their superior belt level. (This courtesy will be awarded to you when you achieve Black Belt level)
2. When receiving direction from a Black Belt instructor, all students must listen and act promptly.
3. Students must address and answer the instructors respectfully and humbly (Ex.: "Yes sir, No sir or Yes mam, No mam.")
4. It is tradition to bow when entering or leaving the DO-JANG. In order to show respect for the law and order of the land and to the ancient traditions of TAE KWON DO, all classes commence with students and instructors bowing to the flags and banners.
5. All students must learn the students' creed as soon as possible. This pledge embodies the spirit of TAE KWON DO and its principles.
Student Creed
We commit ourselves to mental and physical discipline, to
be friends with one another, and to develop strength in our
group. We shall never fight to achieve selfish goals; but to
develop wisdom and character is our ultimate commitment.
Unite For Right!!
6.Students will be learning some effective and powerful techniques. No one is to use these techniques offensively. When outside the school, these techniques are to be used only when personal safety or the safety of others is threatened.
